Here’s what stood out to me:→ She’s applying some kind of thick, dark, oil-based ointment — I’m not even sure what it is→ That’s a lot of product being layered onto active, inflamed lesions→ Then she’s occluding it all with a Band-Aid
As a board-certified dermatologist, here’s what I actually want you to know if you’re dealing with cystic acne like this:→ These lesions are usually painful→ They take a long time to go away→ They can scar, and that scarring can be permanent
The right approach? Large cystic lesions often need to be injected with a steroid, or treated with something like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide — not a mystery ointment and a Band-Aid.
