If you’ve done one round of laser for your acne scars and felt let down, this is probably why.
Acne scars aren’t one thing. Ice pick scars, deep tethered boxcar scars, and areas where collagen has been lost all need different tools.
On the latest episode of The Skin Real on Treatment Stacking, Dr. Sarah Arron walks through what she calls the “acne stack.”
She might use a focal TCA CROSS peel for ice pick scars, subcision to break up tethered scar tissue, an injectable to build back lost collagen, and a peel or laser resurfacing to smooth the surface, often combining three or four of these in one intensive session.
There’s real downtime involved, so she wants her patients to see real results from it. Skin tone and how extensive the scarring is can limit how aggressive you can go, and follow-up treatments are often part of the plan.
Have you ever had acne scars treated, and did one treatment do it for you?
