Not all topical estrogen is the same — and the difference matters for your skin.
There are two forms to know:
→ Estradiol — stronger, more potent, broader activity. More commonly found in vaginal estrogen formulations. Has greater potential for systemic absorption, but studies show minimal absorption even on mucosal skin — so on keratinized (face, neck, arms) it would be even less.
→ Estriol — weaker, more localized, and typically formulated specifically for facial skin. More cosmeceutical-like, layers well with your existing routine, and is generally considered the preferred option for aesthetic topical use.
Stronger doesn’t always mean better — especially when it comes to your face.
